Turning winter stagnation into winter nourishment.

Date & Time
January 17

Practice Yoga Church
414 W. Johanna Street
Austin, Texas 78704

Pre-registration required.

Winter time may be a time of hibernation and quiet reflection, which can result in physical stagnation, foggy fatigue, and a sluggish immune system. Our aim is to turn this physical stagnation into nourishing the kidney and urinary bladder organs to result in quiet reflection, but with Qi that circulates to revitalize and nourish.

The quiet and stillness of winter allows us to hear more of the world than the buzzing activities of summer. This forces us to slow down, rest and replenish. According to traditional Chinese medicine ( TCM), water is the primary element of winter, and we can focus on the kidneys and urinary bladder by stimulating the meridians that run down the front and back of the spine, as well as down the back of the legs and up the inner thighs. Postures that encourage full circulation of the back line of the body especially the spine and lower back around the kidneys, will help replenish our vital energy.

By keeping the water element moving during this cold season, you will feel fluid, replenished and emotionally balanced.

In this event we will turn winter stagnation into winter nourishment with an hour of Yin Yoga followed by an hour of sound healing.
