Yin + Restorative yoga are practices for re-establishing balance between the body, heart, and mind; they help us to slow down, take stock and recalibrate the nervous system, bringing about a deep sense of well-being through insight, integration and self-compassion.
This 20-hour training presents Yin + Restorative yogas as distinct, but complementary, styles with a unique capacity for digesting and integrating life’s experiences into embodied wisdom. We will cover the foundations of Yin + Restorative yoga – including history, methodology, and guiding principles for practice using a synthesis of modalities, including Ayurveda, Yogic and Daoist philosophy, TCM, Mindfulness, Neuroscience, and Somatic Embodiment.
In the fall training, we hone in on the concept of balance as this season marks the transition between the warm exuberance of summer and chill stillness of winter. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, autumn corresponds to the metal element as well as the lung and large intestine meridians. When we are in harmony with the energy of autumn, we are able to release the activity of summer with gratitude, reflect, and turn our focus inwards to prepare for the energetics of winter.
Come and discover how to nourish yourself to promote the natural cycles of elimination and purification of the physical, emotional, and energetic bodies that correspond to this time of year; process emotions of grief, stubbornness, and/or resistance that naturally arise with the seasonal shift.
Participants receive a certificate for each completed module. In addition, you may apply for the 100hr certification which includes the yearlong training plus an additional 20 hours of practice, homework, and mentorship.

Testimonial from Kaitlyn Campbell – completed all 4 modules in Fall 2022.
“As part of continuing my yoga education this year I attended Yin and Restorative training. It felt like I was attending “life school”. Iva and Shanti really LIVE their Yoga –their offerings are the highest quality, they’re both so sweet and refreshingly authentic!
We did 80 hours total- a weekend for winter, summer, spring and fall. I was reminded how connected to nature we can become by “taking cues” from each season in how to care for ourselves through ebbs and flows of life.
Finding balance with these practices to me was the missing piece in my yoga journey (physical and mental). I’m so grateful to have been a part of these wisdom practice trainings. Thank you Iva and Shanti!”
