Experience the exuberance and joy of summer while feeling deeply nourished and supported.

Summer is a season of passion, creativity, and fire. Energy is at its most expansive, oftentimes directed outwards to fuel the heightened activity of this time of year. With the emphasis on going and doing, we may find that we neglect to take time for ourselves. The result is stress and burn-out, even fatigue – invitations to come back into balance by tempering the yang energy of summertime with the healing power of the yin.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Summer corresponds to the element of Fire. Fire is connected to the heart, the small intestine, and the tongue. When Fire is in balance, the heart is strong and vital, digestion functions easily, and one’s energy is available to be directed towards sources of joy, expansion, and spiritual awareness.

Yin + Restorative access our internal reset buttons, making them a perfect complement to the summer season; they slow us down, allowing the nervous system to relax, and our physical bodies to receive.

This training presents Yin + Restorative as distinct but complementary styles. We cover their foundations, history, methodology, and guiding principles, with a focus on the summer season.
