Experience the energy of growth, vitality, and expansion that blossoms in Spring with Yin and Restorative Yoga, the Wisdom Practices of well-being.

Spring is a season of exuberance, of lifeforce energy rising in preparation to bloom. It’s the time of year that asks us to clear out the old in order to make room for the new. In the physical body, we enact this through cleansing, creating a fertile environment for the seeds of our own growth.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Spring corresponds to the Wood element, to the liver and gallbladder. Wood symbolizes movement, expansion, activity and change. It’s the wellspring of new ideas, transformation and hope that inspire us to make decisions about our direction for the year, and then to take action. In this way, Wood connects us to the future, opening the channel for expressing our true nature and manifesting ourselves in the world.

The practices of Yin + Restorative illuminate our internal reset buttons, making them a perfect complement to this season; they slow the mental and physical body such that the nervous system can relax, giving rise to insights as to how we can best release the stagnation of seasons past and invite in our own renewal.

This training presents Yin + Restorative yoga as distinct, but complementary, styles. We cover the foundations of both, including their history, methodology, and guiding principles for practice, with specific sequences for Spring. In addition, we’ll cover the importance of digestive fire from the Ayurvedic perspective, with an optional 3-day kitchari cleanse offered to nourish Agni (digestive fire), and promote the elimination of ama (toxins).
