“I’ve got 99 problems and healing my nervous system solved 90 of them” ~ Christa Orecchio

Chronic stress and trauma can wreak havoc on the nervous system and have persistent and lifelong effects on our immune system, our mental health, and our ability to direct life intentionally for ourselves. The good news is that we can heal our nervous system, and restore resilience and well-being.

In this 50 hour series you will learn about:

Your 3-part brain and your hierarchy of stress responses
Polyvagal theory and how it can help you befriend your nervous system
Trauma and its effects on the body mind and spirit
How trauma is sustained and perpetuated through modern civilization and oppressive cultural constructs
Co-regulation, self-regulation, auto-regulation, and restoring resilience.
Breathing techniques for shifting into a restorative and connected parasympathetic nervous system
Movement tools for improving vagal tone and creating a bio-feedback loop of well-being Orienting tools to create connect you with our own sense of safety
Evidence-based mindfulness for accessing feelings and thoughts of power and agency
Self-inquiry to know when stress triggers you into dysregulation
Tools to promote self-attunement

This training is also for those who want to work mindfully with others in a nervous system and trauma informed way. After this workshop you will be able to:

Recognize the 5 primary nervous system states (Polyvagal theory)
Know what your client needs to feel supported in each state
Help someone in an active stress response come back to safety and connection
Mitigate NS impairment as a result of a traumatic event
Navigate the needs of someone with complex trauma
Give people effective tools they can carry with them into their lives
Support people toward a sense of wholeness and agency

This workshop is for anyone wanting to reset their nervous system and restore balance through movement, breath, and mindfulness. These practices can create a renewed sense of self-trust and self-compassion.

For people with complex trauma and PTSD, this workshop is best done in conjunction with a licensed mental health specialist. Our scope of practice for this workshop is on understanding our stress responses and cultivating resilience, not specifically trauma on resolution.

This series will be offered live hybrid: both in-person and live virtually through Zoom.
