Seasonal YIN + Nutrition for Spring

Spring is a season of rapid expansion and growth, as well as a time to work with Liver and Gallbladder meridians. This practice will hone in on physically toning the Liver and Gallbladder centres and working with the emotional component of these organs. Spring is a time to welcome gentle cleansing of our body and mind. This practice can be helpful to make room for change.

In a yin practice, we will typically hold poses for 3-5 mins or longer. With disengagement of muscles, these are deep stretches and compressions designed to promote the production of synovial fluid or tissue hydration. Each class will cover a different nutritional and holistic view along with our yin practice. 15 minutes of class will be dedicated to learn about the body system and the single herb used in the tea and why it is beneficial this time of year.

Making all 3 classes is ideal to benefit from making this a seasonal practice and integrating the growing awareness of your yoga off the mat.

You are encouraged to “show up” to class with warm lemon water, if possible.

Brandi Jo Perkins is a Yoga Instructor and Clinical Herbalist. She teaches yin regularly and offers holistic herbal consultations.
