Today, mindfulness has become woven into the fabric of our entire society, from education, to medicine, to sports, to politics, to public health and social justice. When fully understood, mindfulness has much to offer as a personal and collective healing modality. It is important that we have skilled facilitators who can share it from a place of knowledge and lived experience.

The 100hr Healing Centered Mindfulness training has been developed to help teachers  embody the healing yoga of mindfulness in their own lives, and  share it with other members of their community in ways that are conscious, meaningful, accessible and responsive. This comprehensive training in mindfulness and mindful facilitation is for all.

Over the course of five weekends, we will study mindfulness in the context of history, psychology, personal practice, facilitation, and conscious social engagement.

In this training you will learn:

  • A Healing Centered perspective on mindfulness that incorporates, and humanizes both traditional dharma, and trauma informed care
  • The historical, philosophical, and psychological roots of mindfulness
  • How to incorporate mindfulness into your own living yoga practice
  • Current perspectives on psychology, neuroscience, and public health
  • How to facilitate mindfulness yoga in a way that is responsive, inclusive, accessible, community based and healing.
  • How to engage mindfulness as a basis for confronting real issues, for supporting social healing, and healthy social action

Weekend Zoom Training: 10:00am-5:00pm
Included participation in weekly Mindfulness class: Mondays 9:00-10:00pm
2 hours of self-paced homework monthly

Weekend 1: Healing Centered Mindfulness  (August 1,2)

The first weekend, we will learn a Healing Centered theory of mindfulness, establishing a perspective on mindfulness that humanizes it as a way of living and relating to experience. We will develop a firm foundation by understanding mindfulness through our own personal practise. Finally will look at inquiry based ways of connecting to  personal practice that make mindfulness more accessible.

Weekend 2: Roots of Mindfulness   (September 5,6)

The second weekend we will explore the history of mindfulness. We will look at the history of Buddhist philosophy and practice. Finally, we will look at Buddhist psychology both traditional and from the perspective of modern psychology and neuroscience.

Weekend 3: Foundations of Mindfulness (October 3,4) 

The third weekend we will look at the modern mindfulness movement. We will cover current definitions, practices, and mindfulness based programming. We will learn how to incorporate mindfulness practices into group settings including yoga classes.

Weekend 4: Mindful Facilitation ( November 7,8)

The fourth weekend will cover the practice of mindful facilitation. We will discuss ways of sharing mindfulness that are actually fun, accessible, culturally responsive, and strengths based. This includes understanding issues around facilitating in spaces where we are not representative of our participants.  We will look at the critical core factors of being a facilitator and holding supportive space. Finally, we will take a deep dive into trauma informed approaches to facilitating mindfulness safely and effectively.
