Whether you have been on your mat regularly during the pandemic or you are slowly working your way back to practice, this workshop is designed as a loving, encouraging foray into a full-spectrum of postures designed to help you develop strength-based mobility and self-acceptance. Christina Sell, known for her passion for practice, her precise teaching style, and her down-to-earth approach to spirituality will teach each session progressively so that students of all levels can meet themselves where they are and learn clear strategies to advance. Expect demonstrations, explanations, modifications, bad jokes, and inspirational pep talks along the way. Each session has a postural emphasis but will incorporate a variety of poses as well as prop-based learning techniques. Come ready to work, play and to experience the love of shared practice in community.
This weekend is open to a limited number of students to attend live and will be live-streamed and recorded via Zoom.

10:00-12:30– Standing Pose Emphasis
Standing Poses are some of the most commonly-practiced postures on the asana syllabus. They help us gain strength, develop proprioceptive awareness, and can promote self-confidence over time. This session will explore alignment principles in a series of standing poses that will provide a foundation for the weekend’s work.
2:00-4:30– Hip Opening & Arm Balancing
Arm Balances are some of the most empowering (and frustrating) poses in yoga. A dynamic balance of flexibility, strength, and awareness, arm balances often mystify even seasoned practitioners. This session will work through hip-opening, ab-strengthening pose to prepare students of all levels to approach these postures intelligently and with a spirit of adventure.
4:45- 6:15 Teacher Training Reunion Circle
Have you completed teacher training with Practice Yoga? This Q&A/Sharing Circle is offered as an opportunity for teacher training graduates to share with Christina and one another in a supportive, collegial, and community-oriented spirit.
May 9
10:00-12:30 –Back Bend Emphasis
Whether you are a reluctant back bender or a backbend enthusiast, this class will help you learn techniques to safely, progressively work on and towards these heart-opening postures. With careful preparation for the ships, shoulders and spine, back bends, even when challenging, can be an engaging way to both respect and expand your limits in asana.
2:00-4:30- Forward Bends & Twisting Emphasis
This session will is designed as a foray through fundamental forward bending principles and postures in standing, supine and seated positions. Utilizing twisting postures throughout the practice helps break up stiffnesses and balance the nervous system to create a deeper experience both physically and internally.
