Our Vision

Our vision is to nurture 200-hour teachers to grow confidence in their teaching skills and their ability to hold inclusive spaces for broad and diverse communities of students.

We believe that a 500-hour yoga teacher should feel comfortable and confident in their teaching skills, but also have mastery in areas of yoga that they feel passionate about. They should have the skills to teach in a yoga studio and know how to hold a supportive space for diverse communities, as well as in a one-on-one context.

In our Yoga Alliance accredited program, we provide a 200-hour Core Curriculum Program that creates the foundation for more in-depth study, including asana, anatomy, teaching skills, and meditation. You will take the remaining 80 hours as electives in your areas of interest. OUR GRADUATES

The core of our heart resides in our community. Our students and teachers continue to grow and bring yoga to the world. Hear more about our teacher trainings straight from past graduates.

I moved to Austin and within a month enrolled in the 300H at PYA and it was the best decision I made! Not only were all the teachers incredibly experienced, I also felt so welcome & accepted. I learned so much, not just about yoga but also life. Especially being new to Austin, the community I found has been so special. Even though I completed the 300H last year, I still see my teachers and fellow 300H students frequently 🙂 I highly recommend to anyone considering signing up!

Teresa de Figueiredo 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training Graduate

I adored my time in PYA’s 300hr YTT program. Every month was engaging, interesting, and fun. I met very cool people who I love having in my life now. I learned so many new things about yoga and myself. The format of being all in person made the community-building aspect of this really shine and I could not have asked for a better experience overall. Jenn and Shanti’s weekends in particular taught me so many things I didn’t know I didn’t know. What I learned in this program improves my life on a daily basis. I cannot say enough good things. I wish I could re-live the experience over again. 💜💜

Mary Hallewell 300H RYT Practice Graduate

This training left me overflowing with knowledge and still wanting more. I came in naive and nervous but extremely open-hearted and excited…I have left with so much more empowerment, humility, and a heart full of gratitude for this experience with these amazing teachers and my fellow classmates who continually inspired and uplifted me.

Maggie Anbalagan 200H RYT Practice Graduate

I currently teach at two studios in Austin and I have found this training to be invaluable. I began my teacher training as a way to deepen my Asana practice, I never thought I would actually become a teacher! I feel confident to lead others in practice.

Relle Sonnenschein 200H RYT Practice Graduate

Practice Yoga Austin and their lead teachers are some of the highest quality yoga teacher training and trainers you can find in Austin. They cover all the important topics and give you ample opportunity to practice teach and work on your own practice. It's certainly one of the best yoga studios in the city, and I'd unquestionably recommend it for anyone looking for extremely high quality yoga teacher training.
