“I believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living, the principles are the same. In each, it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes shape of achievement, a sense of one’s being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes, in some area, an athlete of God. Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired.”- Martha Graham

Sadhana, or spiritual practice, is a body of activities with which we engage and from which we abstain. At the heart of sadhana are philosophical precepts and assertions that guide the course of study and practice. While some practices are given as one-size-fits- all prescriptions, authentic practice is less of an outer protocol and more of an inner alignment based on self-knowledge and respectful recognition of what most serves an individuals growth and development. Designed for yoga teachers and committed practitioners, this workshop incorporates asana studies, philosophical considerations, and self-study as a means to educate and inspire participants to greater depth and insight. Expect overviews of yoga philosophy, writing assignments, group discussion, and simple seated practices to bring the teachings alive. Christina, known for her passionate presentation, clear-minded explanations, and down-to-earth spirituality is dedicated to helping people of all ages and abilities engage yoga with honesty, courage, and self-respect. She has been teaching yoga since 1998 and resides in Buena Vista, Colorado with her husband, two cats, and the world’s best dog, Locket.

This intensive will be on Zoom. All asana sessions will be recorded and available for purchase so live attendance is not required. However, to preserve confidentiality and to encourage personal inquiry/sharing, the philosophy sessions will not be recorded.

Please have 2 blocks, 2 blankets, 1 strap.
