Teaching at: Wild Heart Yoga, Practice Yoga Austin

I am incredibly grateful for my Teacher Training experience with Practice Yoga under lead teachers Kiely Rutledge and Rey Cardenas, not to mention the stellar instruction we got from various guest teachers of extremely high caliber. Every one of them has an obvious and true passion for yoga in every aspect, from asana to philosophy, and really instilled that passion into us as trainees. They were always willing to go above and beyond to answer questions, delve deeper, and really help us grasp concepts for ourselves. I learned so much from asana practice, anatomy, philosophy, sequencing, Ayurveda…and I have realized how much I have yet to learn! This training left me overflowing with knowledge and still wanting more. I came in naive and nervous but extremely open-hearted and excited…I have left with so much more empowerment, humility, and a heart full of gratitude for this experience with these amazing teachers and my fellow classmates who continually inspired and uplifted me. I came to realize that the journey of yoga–and especially teaching yoga–is not over at the end of a 200-hr training (or even a 300 or 500 hour one), but is a path you put your feet to each and every day. I am deeply grateful to Practice Yoga and its teachers for holding wide the door and inviting me to step through and begin my journey.

The training I received at Practice Yoga was outstanding in so many ways. The level of thought and care that went into the training was extremely high. They created an open and loving space that held every student to their highest standard. The program was extremely thorough. The training covered a wide variety of teaching methods, breakdowns of sequencing, extensive and comprehensive anatomy knowledge, deep focus on the 8 limbs of yoga, in depth knowledge on the history and foundation of yoga, and great coverage of how to handle the business side of teaching yoga. There was such a good balance between the physical part of the education and the historical and philosophical part. They had experts who specialized in different areas such as kinesiology, Ayurveda, Chakras, and other areas of yoga study. The use of time was very effective for the group, and allowed us to get everything we needed to complete done with in a very reasonable period of time. The training was very supportive of the students and always had our best interests in mind. I gained such a wealth of knowledge as well as a very connected community with the teacher training. I continue to be very close with the studio because of the intimate environment that the training facilitated. I also will look to do future ongoing trainings at Practice Yoga. I would highly recommend this training to any and everyone. I couldn’t be more satisfied.

Teaching at: Practice Yoga Austin, Black Swan Yoga

I currently teach at two studios in Austin, TX and I have found my training I received from Practice Yoga Austin’s 200RYT program to be invaluable. I fell in love with the studio as a student and immediately felt at home with the community and instructors. I began my teacher training as a way to deepen my Asana practice, I never thought I would actually become a teacher! However, through the leadership and deep nurturing of Kiely Wolters and Rey Cardenas I found myself being called to educate! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. My relationship to my body and my practice changed after my RYT200. I become more aware of my physical being and of the people around me. My consciousness and my practiced deepened. The aspects of the spiritual practice of Yoga are now a part of my daily life. I feel confident to lead others in practice, because I was given the tools and information to do so.
