Hurray for Backbends!

There are so many excellent benefits to a backbend practice. Backbends strengthen the back muscles and improve your posture. Backbends counter depression by opening the chest and the shoulders. They stretch and strengthen the diaphragm to help you breathe better and they boost confidence and alleviate fears. In this workshop we will explore the wonderful world of backbends from belly down backbends all the way up to urdhva dhanurasana We will learn about the component parts of a backbend, we will warm up the spine with twists, and we will practice counterposes to safely round out a backbend sequence.

This is a workshop for beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners.
