First Timer’s Guide to Yoga

This workshop will address many common stereotypes, beliefs and questions associated with the modern practice of yoga. Great for beginners, skeptics, or for new practitioners curious about finding deeper meaning in their personal practice.

The session will be a practical discussion interwoven with movement, addressing beliefs like:

  • “I want to practice more but am intimidated by public classes.”
  • “I don’t have enough time for that.”
  • “I’m not flexible, strong, patient, etc. enough to do yoga.”
  • “My mom does yoga. I prefer a harder workout.”
  • “Yoga is for hippies.”
  • “I just don’t get it – what’s so special about yoga?”

You won’t get this type of break down in any one public class. And, no mat or athletic wear is necessary – come as you are!
